MACS Fundraisers

MACS has two primary fundraisers each year

Work-a-Thon: This takes place early fall and 2009 is our 16th Annual Work-a-thon event.   Dedicated students, faculty, parents, and friends gather to serve our community and raise financial support for MACS. Elementary students share artwork and music or play games and read with the elderly in assisted/congregate living or long-term care facilities.   Junior high students do yard work and cleaning for the physcially-challenged and elderly.
Promise Banquet: Our Promise Banquet will be held Thursday, March 25, 2010, 6:00 PM at the SMSU Conference Center, Marshall, MN. Keynote speaker this year is Kirk Cameron.

Kirk Cameron is best known as the lovable teenager Mike Seaver, from the award-winning series Growing Pains (1985-1992), as “Buck” Williams from the Left Behind movies-based on the NY Times bestselling novels, and most recently he starred in the 2008 movie Fireproof.

Much more significant than his acting career is his conversion to Christianity. Kirk was not raised in a church-going home and described himself as a devout atheist from a very young age. He was so convinced there was no God that he laughed at those who thought there was. But that changed one afternoon as he sat in his sports car pondering the first Gospel message he had ever heard.

Since becoming a Christian, Kirk has been a dedicated follower of Christ, striving to provide quality family entertainment and makes the most of every opportunity to further the Gospel. Kirk regularly visits churches and attends community events around the country in order to share his personal testimony.

Kirk also produces and co-hosts a new television program called The Way of the Master, a spiritually based, reality TV program hosted with Ray Comfort. It is watched on 20 different networks, in several languages, won the National Religious Broadcaster’s “Best Program of the Year” award for 2005 and 2006, and “The People’s Choice” award three years in a row. It has recently become a worldwide, daily, 2 hour talk radio show on Sirius Satellite Network called The Way of the Master Radio.

The Way of the Master Ministry is an interdenominational ministry whose purpose is to teach Christians how to unleash the power of biblical evangelism-empowering believers to share the gospel simply and effectively…the way Jesus did.
